Frangokastello is located at Chania Prefecture, at county of Sfakia, at southwest Crete. The distance from Chora Sfakion is 15km, from Chania 80km, from Rethymnon 55km, from Heraklion 135km and from Agio Nikolao 195km. The visitor who will travel to our places, won’t meet only the imperious Castle of Venetians, which is named “Frangokastello”! The beaches of the village are “Vatalos”, “Mavro Nero”, “Hontros Volakas”, “Iligas”, “Frangokastello”, “Orthi Ammos” and “Kritama”, and they promise you a new experience for every day! In close distance, are located the beaches “Lakkoi”, “Agia Marina”, “Peristeres”, “Polyrizos”, “Korakas” and “Koutelo”.

The gorges of “Kallikratis”, “Asfendou”, “Imbros” and “Aradaina”, are a pleasant experience. However, the most popular canyon is the National Park of Samaria, which begins from Omalos and finishes at Agia Roumeli. Also, the paths of White Mountains, with the most famous the one which leads to their highest peak, “Pachnes” at 2.456m, are the favorite routes of the hikers.

From the port of Sfakia there are daily routes to “Loutro”, “Agia Roumeli” and “Palaiohora”, as well as to other bays like “Glyka Nera”, “Foinikas”, “Lykos”, “Marmara”, “Agios Pavlos” and “Domata”. In addition, you have the chance from the same harbor, to visit the southernmost edge of Europe, which is known from “Odyssey” of Omiros, as the “Calypso’s Island”, “Gavdos”!
