Frangokastello lies about 75km
from Chania and 140km from Heraklion at the south coast of Crete.
Reachable is the village by bus, taxi or
rented car.
Frangokastello is named from
the venetian castle, wich was built 1371 for the protection against pirats and the
revolutions of the inhabitants.
Today Frangokastello is a well known seaside
resort far away from the mass tourism. Above all families with little children are
thinking highly of the local beachs.
You can come to us from Chania
/ Vrisses or Heraklion / Rethimnon. Both roads are offering their own charm.
